COVER SUPERVISOR
Salary: NJC Scale 3, pts 5-6 £14,073.04 to £14,354.33 (actual).
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 08:30 to 3:30).
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance.
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 26 April 2021.
Interview Date: Interviews will take place adopting social distancing principles.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor, to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy. 

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be able to motivate and inspire pupils;
  • have experience of working with children and managing behaviour;
  • have good attention to detail;
  • be keen to learn and develop their skills
  • be flexible and committed to supporting the work ethos of the Academy

Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – English and Humanities
Salary: NJC Scale 4, pts 7-11 £17,109.14 to £18,519.29 (actual).
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 08:30 to 4:30 with a finish of 4:00 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance.
Start Date: 1 September 2021
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 19 April 2021.
Interview Date: Interviews will take place adopting social distancing principles.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic HLTA to join the English and Humanities departments providing valuable additional support and capacity within the Faculties.

Specifically the HLTA will:

  • Increase skilled support within the Faculties.
  • Work in partnership with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of students.
  • Support teaching staff to assess student needs and progress and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support learning and promote student independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
  • Give support to students, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
  • Provide priority support for Pupil Premium students who have additional needs not met by an EHCP.
  • Provide EHCP support where required.
  • Provide cover for absent Teachers within the departments where required.
  • Provide cover for absent Teaching Assistants where required.
  • Provide support to the Heads of Faculty. 
  • Have the flexibility to undertake a small number of timetabled lessons where required for an additional payment.

Head of Psychology

We currently have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Head of Psychology to join a successful and talented team of staff

In addition to the job specification for teaching staff, the Head of Subject Area (Psychology) will also include the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty in the day-to-day running of the faculty
  • Take the lead role and responsibility for driving Teaching and Learning of Psychology and Criminology at Key Stage 5
  • Monitor the progress of students in Psychology and Criminology within Key Stage 5 and, along with the Head of Faculty, intervene where appropriate
  • Develop appropriate resources for improving teaching and learning in the faculty
  • Support colleagues in their teaching throughout the faculty
  • Act as an appraiser
  • Carry out other tasks as reasonably directed by the Principal

INVIGILATORS REQUIRED

Salary £8.72 per hour
Hours – by arrangement
Casual Worker Agreement

We are seeking to recruit reliable and highly organised individuals to assist with public examinations.

Responsibilities will include greeting and seating candidates, distribution and collection of examination papers, invigilation of examination sessions and ensuring compliance with exam board regulations at all times.

The hours would be by arrangement throughout the examination seasons.
