Student Support Assistant: First Aid
Salary (and Allowances): NJC Scale 1, pts 1-3, £8,698.65to £8,961.51 (actual).
Hours: 21.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 11:30 to 15:45, Monday to Friday)
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance.
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 15 August 2022

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Student Support Assistant for First Aid to join the Pastoral team within St George’s Academy. The role will be primarily based on our Sleaford Campus but may work across both our Sleaford and Ruskington campuses.

Working under the supervision and direction of the Student Support Lead for First Aid, you will be responsible for the provision of a front-line service to students and staff with medical conditions and those who become unwell or are injured during the school day.

Duties will include administering emergency/non-emergency first aid, liaising with parents/carers and staff, arranging transfer to home or hospital where appropriate and supporting the safe storage/issuing of student medication. Working as part of the Pastoral team, the post holder will also play a key role in the early identification of any potential safeguarding concerns.

We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic person who has good communication and IT skills and experience of working with young people.

The ideal candidate will also hold a First Aid at Work Certificate and a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C), or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications. Previous nursing experience would be an advantage but is not considered essential.

ICT Support Technician
Salary (and Allowances): NJC Scale 3  pts 5 to 6, £19,650 to £20,043 (actual).
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3.30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs)
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance.
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 15 August 2022       .

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic ICT Support Technician to help maintain and support the ICT Services across both our Sleaford and Ruskington campuses.

Typical duties will include logging calls, problem solving, installation, configuration, repairing and upgrading IT equipment (hardware & software); network implementation; auditing; keeping documentation up to date and creating user guides.

The ICT Services Team support over 2300 students and 350 members of staff, using 1800 workstations & laptops. Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple products is preferred, although in-house training will be provided. Prior knowledge of IP systems including WiFi, CCTV, and telephony would also be an added bonus.

Science Technician
Salary: NJC Scale 1&2, pts 3-4
£16,013.99 to £16,404.04 (actual).
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3:30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance.
Start Date: 1 September 2022
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 18 July 2022

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Technician to help with the smooth running of the Science Department. Supporting the full Science Department, the role will work mainly at the Ruskington Campus but flexibility is required to work at our Sleaford campus on occasions too.

Duties will include maintaining and cleaning equipment; pre-class preparation for displays and exercises; trialling practical activities, ensuring equipment and materials are available for staff and that work areas are kept clean and tidy.  A willingness to be flexible, good communication skills and an interest in science are required.  Current and relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage.

You will be required to have experience of working in a similar role and some basic knowledge of science taught in the classroom. The ideal candidate will also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

APPRENTICE LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
    
Salary: Apprentice rate of £4.81 in the first year
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Contract Basis: 18 months Apprenticeship
Closing Date: Monday 11 July 2022    

We are seeking to appoint two Level 3 (Advanced) Teaching Assistant Apprentices in partnership with Priory Apprenticeships. 

These fantastic opportunity will develop your skills as a Teaching Assistant whilst working with individual children having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s statement where appropriate and/or groups of children as directed by the teacher.  You will also provide support to the SEN Manager/Principal/Teacher across a range of child-centred activities to promote child development and learning.

APPRENTICE ICT TECHNICIAN

Salary: National Apprentice Rate: £4.81 per hour in the first year
Hours: 37 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year (Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm)
Contract Basis: 18 months Apprenticeship
Closing Date: Thursday 4 August 2022

We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice ICT Technician. The successful candidate will be supported to undertake and complete a Level 3 ICT qualification in partnership with Priory Apprenticeships.

You will support the ICT Support Technicians who manage over 1800 devices and 80 virtual servers work across two campuses.  Typical duties will include call logging; problem solving; installation, configuration, repairing and upgrading ICT equipment (hardware and software); periodic printer maintenance; basic network implementation; setting up ICT bookings; auditing; updating support manuals and creating user guides. Existing knowledge of hardware and software maintenance would be advantageous.

Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office, in particular MS Word, Excel, Outlook is essential.

This post is based at the Sleaford Campus with a requirement to travel to the Ruskington Campus.

COVER SUPERVISOR
Salary: NJC Scale 3, pts 5-6, £14,319.27 to £14,605.65 (actual)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 08:30 to 3:30).
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor, to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy. 

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be able to motivate and inspire pupils;
  • have experience of working with children and managing behaviour;
  • have good attention to detail;
  • be keen to learn and develop their skills
  • be flexible and committed to supporting the work ethos of the Academy

MIDDAY SUPERVISORY ASSISTANTS
Salary: £1,702.89 (actual)
Hours: 4.16 hours per week working one 50 minute shift per day
(Working hours are 12:35pm to 1.25pm)
Term time only for 38 weeks per year
Contract Basis: Fixed term for up to 6 months in the first instance

Salary: NJC Scale 3, pt5, currently £10.19 per hour
Hours: Casual basis – to be arranged by prior agreement subject to the needs of the Academy
Hours offered will usually fall within the core school hours of 8:30 – 3:30, term time only, 38 weeks per year

INVIGILATORS REQUIRED

Salary: £9.50 per hour
Hours: by arrangement
Casual Worker Agreement

We are seeking to recruit reliable and highly organised individuals to assist with public examinations.

Responsibilities will include greeting and seating candidates, distribution and collection of examination papers, invigilation of examination sessions and ensuring compliance with exam board regulations at all times.

The hours would be by arrangement throughout the examination seasons.
