Worldwide Language Competition
150 students in Years 8, 9 and 11 took part in a worldwide Languages competition, run by the publishers Collins. Students earnt points for completing online vocabulary based tasks in a language they are learning such as French, Spanish or German. Students also played in Polish, Russian, Japanese and Latin. The competition saw everyone put in an amazing effort giving up time before school, at break time, lunchtime and after school to score as many points as they could.
St George's Academy ended the event in an outstanding fifth position overall with 400,000 points after a nail-biting contest against the sixth placed school. Even better: St George’s won the German competition outright.
Many thanks to Mrs Wild for organising such a fun contest
