UCAS

At St George’s our sixth form students are well supported to make informed decisions about their post 18 pathway into higher education. They are provided with the following range of opportunities and advice throughout year 12 which provide information, guidance and support.

  • The UCAS Team and Form Tutors
  • Assemblies
  • The Next Steps 4 Study Programme
  • Support in applying for summer schools
  • Careers Fairs which are attended by universities, colleges and employers
  • Work Experience
  • Destinations Visits
  • Unifrog

Additionally, during term 6 of year 12, parents are invited to a Higher Education Evening where there is the opportunity to be given information about:

  • The application process
  • How to help your child
  • Applying for student finance

This event is followed by a Q and A session so that parents are able to access bespoke advice.

All students who make a UCAS application are well supported by experienced, specialist staff who provide one to one feedback on personal statements and the application form.

If your child is thinking about going to university or college, the UCAS Website is packed with advice and information. There is also a very useful and informative section for parents and guardians where you can sign up for the monthly parent newsletters and learn how to help your child through the application process.
