At St George’s Academy the 16 to 19 Tuition Funding will be split between two key programmes: Maths & English Tutoring for students studying for GCSE re-sit examinations and Vocational Workshops for students studying for BTEC and CTEC qualifications.
- GCSE Maths & English Tutoring - Small group online tutoring sessions for GCSE re-sit students, delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams led by teachers based at the Academy, alongside private tutors.
- Vocational Workshops - Small group tutorials delivered face-to-face at the Academy with a focus on supporting the students with the completion of coursework in vocational subjects where this process had been deferred due to the national lockdown.
All of the students supported are those who had not achieved grade 5 or above in at least one of English or Maths by the age of 16. All supported students are currently on 16-19 study programmes. Priority has been given to students who have not achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths and to those students who would most benefit from small group tuition.
