(dependent upon COVID19 situation)
Work Experience is available to all students in Year 12 for one week, usually in July, and must be completed out of school. Some courses in the Sixth Form require work experience to be undertaken throughout the year.
The Careers Team have a wide knowledge and database of employers who are willing to take a work experience student. If you have any questions regarding work experience, please email careersoffice@st-georges-academy.org
Whilst many Year 12 students have a part time job, it is always extremely beneficial and highly recommended to gain relevant work experience in the industry sector relevant to the career you want to follow.
Springpod and Speakers for School cover just about every subject and industry sector imaginable and the Futures team suggest you get as much relevant experience as you can to boost your personal statement and CV.
Volunteering is also excellent and counts as work experience. Please check out https://doit.life/ for local volunteering opportunities. For example, you can volunteer at Belton House over the summer, refresh your local train station or help people learn how to use a computer.
