St George’s Academy is a large, successful, 11-18 mixed secondary school of 2,319 students (including 386 in the sixth form and 497 on our Ruskington Campus) with outstanding facilities in all areas. The Academy serves Sleaford, Ruskington and the surrounding Lincolnshire villages.

Teacher with responsibility for Mathematics Enrichment
Salary: MPS/UPS
Allowances: TLR2a  £2,873 payable

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics, with a responsibility for Mathematics Enrichment, to join a successful and talented team of staff.

In addition to the job specification for teaching staff, the Mathematics Enrichment Co-ordinator will also include the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Director of Mathematics in raising achievement and engagement, by developing a programme of maths enrichment
  • Coordinating extra-curricular provision in maths, including for gifted mathematicians
  • Coordinating mathematical House competitions and engaging activities for tutorial time
  • Coordinating with STEM subjects to run cross-curricular events
  • Raising aspiration through work with industry and higher education
  • Development of enrichment within the mathematics curriculum
  • Liaising with feeder schools to create transition enrichment activities
  • Leading on the Year 7 Talent Pathway for mathematics

Sixth Form Study Support Leader
Salary: NJC Scale 4, pts 7 to 11, £14,897.95 to £16,125.84 (actual)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 8:30 to 3:30)
Start Date: 1 September 2022
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and resourceful individual to support the work of the Academy’s Sixth Form Students as a Sixth Form Study Support Leader.

The role will support the learning of our Sixth Form students, ensuring that students further develop the effective learning skills that they need in order to experience success. It arises as part of the pandemic recovery programme and is therefore fixed term for one-year in the first instance, but has the potential to be extended if funding and impact are evident.

Key elements of the role will include supervising and facilitating a personalised learning hour once a week for each student in Year 12 and working closely with students, tutors and subject teachers, to identify key priorities and any specific and / or perceived barriers to learning. The role will also take a lead in delivering on a Thrive programme for supporting mental health.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, being able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues, as well as the ability to liaise with outside agencies. Applicants should also hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or have equivalent experience for working with young people aged between 11-19. Good administrative skills are essential.  Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Administrative Assistant and Student Support Room Supervisor

Salary: NJC Scale 3, pts 5-6, £16,302.03 to £16,628.07 (actual)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3.30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs)
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to work alongside our existing Pastoral teams. The role will focus on providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team whilst supervising our Sixth Form Student Support Room.

Responsibilities will include:

•    Supervision of the Sixth Form Student Support Room.
•    Liaising with staff over students who are required to study in the Sixth Form Student Support Room

Whilst supervising the Sixth Form Student Support Room, and as part of the admin team:

•    Provide administrative support for the Vice-Principal Curriculum, supporting with a range of duties linked to the options process, curriculum quality assurance, teaching and learning initiatives etc.
•    Provide administrative support for the UCAS Coordinator, monitoring the tracking system, liaising with tutors, proof reading statements and references etc.

The ideal candidate will also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Cover Supervisor

Salary: NJC Scale 3, pts 5-6, £14,319.35 to £14,605.73 (actual)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 08:30 to 3:30).
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor, to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy.  

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

The ideal candidate will:
•    be able to motivate and inspire pupils;
•    have experience of working with children and managing behaviour;
•    have good attention to detail;
•    be keen to learn and develop their skills
•    be flexible and committed to supporting the work ethos of the Academy

Midday Supervisory Assistants

Salary: £2,726.30 (actual)
Hours: 6.66 hours per week working two daily shifts of 40 minutes each.
(Working hours are 11:10am to 11:50am and 12:45pm to 1.25pm)
Term time only for 38 weeks per year
Contract Basis: Fixed term for up to 6 months in the first instance 

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our friendly team, helping to supervise the students during their two breaks at our Sleaford and Ruskington Campuses.

Hours: Casual basis – to be arranged by prior agreement subject to the needs of the Academy

Invigilators Required

Salary: £9.50 per hour
Hours: by arrangement
Casual Worker Agreement

We are seeking to recruit reliable and highly organised individuals to assist with public examinations.

Responsibilities will include greeting and seating candidates, distribution and collection of examination papers, invigilation of examination sessions and ensuring compliance with exam board regulations at all times.

The hours would be by arrangement throughout the examination seasons.
