St George’s Academy is a large, successful, 11-18 mixed secondary school of 2,377 students (including 349 in the sixth form and 531 on our Ruskington Campus) with outstanding facilities in all areas. The Academy serves Sleaford, Ruskington and the surrounding Lincolnshire villages.

Teacher of Music
Salary: MPS/UPS
Hours: Full / Part time considered.

Assistant Science Technician
Salary: NJC Scale 1, pts 1-3 £17,324.49 to £17,798.26 per annum (actual)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year 
(Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3:30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).
Contract Basis: Fixed term basis of 1 year in the first instance. 
Start Date: 1 September 2023
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 5 June 2023

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Technician to help with the smooth running of the Science Department. Supporting the full Science Department, the role will work mainly at the Sleaford Campus but flexibility is required to work at our Ruskington campus on occasions too.
Duties will include assisting the Senior Science Technician and Science Technician with maintaining and cleaning equipment; preparation of chemicals and solutions; trialling practical activities with appropriate supervision, ensuring equipment and materials are available for staff and that work areas are kept clean and tidy.  A willingness to be flexible, good communication skills and an interest in science are required.  Current and relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage.
You will be required to have experience of working in a similar role and some basic knowledge of science taught in the classroom. The ideal candidate will also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

ADMINISTRATION PASTORAL SUPPORT FOR PASTORAL LEAD
Salary: NJC Scale 4, pts 7-11
£19,129.79 to £20,507.80 (actual)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year 
(Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with an earlier finish of 30 minutes one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs)
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance

We are delighted to be able to advertise the above opportunity to work alongside our existing Pastoral team.  This role will be based on our Sleaford Campus.

Key responsibilities will include administrative tasks where set jobs will be assigned to you as priority. The post holder will also take a lead in providing administration support related to student suspensions, paperwork required for outside agencies and parental letters. This will include but will not be limited to filing, typing and sending letters, reprographics work and data input.

The post includes using our BROMCOM electronic recording and reporting system and the ability to analyse data. Full training is provided.

Your role is also supporting our team of Student Progress Managers by investigating high priority behaviour incidents and meeting with students/parents as required.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in working with students age 11-19, have excellent organisational, administrative and inter-personal skills and will work well under pressure. Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team is essential, as are excellent keyboard skills, accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines / respond to changing circumstances.  Experience of working in a similar role is desirable but not considered essential.   
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Invigilators required 
Salary £10.42 per hour  
Hours – by arrangement 
Casual Worker Agreement

We are seeking to recruit reliable and highly organised individuals to assist with public examinations.

Responsibilities will include greeting and seating candidates, distribution and collection of examination papers, invigilation of examination sessions and ensuring compliance with exam board regulations at all times.

The hours would be by arrangement throughout the examination seasons.

APPRENTICE- LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT      
Salary: Apprentice rate of £4.81 in the first year (due to increase to £5.28 per hour from 1 April 2023)      
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year      
Contract Basis: 21 months Apprenticeship      

We are seeking to appoint two Level 3 (Advanced) Teaching Assistant Apprentices in partnership with Priory Apprenticeships. 

These fantastic opportunities will develop your skills as a Teaching Assistant whilst working with individual children having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s statement where appropriate and/or groups of children as directed by the teacher. You will also provide support to the SEN Manager/Principal/Teacher across a range of child-centred activities to promote child development and learning.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT       
Salary and Allowances: NJC Scale 1, pts 1-3, £15,087.42 to £15,500 (actual)

Contract Basis: Fixed Term for 1 year in the first instance      

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who is keen to be part of a team supporting the work of a successful department.

You will be required to work with individual children, having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s statement where appropriate and/or groups of children as directed by the teacher.  You will also provide support to the SEN Manager/Principal/Teacher across a range of child-centred activities to promote child development and learning.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications. The ability to travel between the two campuses is considered essential.

COVER SUPERVISOR                 
Salary: NJC Scale 3, pts 5-6, £15722.05 to £16,008.44 (actual)                 
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year                 
(Usual working hours are 08:30 to 3:30).

We are seeking to appoint Cover Supervisors, to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy at both our Sleaford and Ruskington sites. 

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

  • have experience of working with children and managing behaviour;

CASUAL COVER SUPERVISOR                 
Salary: NJC Scale 3, pt5, currently £11.18 per hour                 
Hours: Casual basis – to be arranged by prior agreement subject to the needs of the Academy                 
Hours offered will usually fall within the core school hours of 8:30 – 3:30, term time only, 38 weeks per year
