Welcome to the Academy

A very warm welcome to St George’s Academy. As Principal, I am delighted and honoured to lead this successful and dynamic Academy.

We believe that St George’s is a very special place to learn. We have a very dedicated group of teaching and support staff, who are well supported by our parent body, and we are immensely proud of the young adults who leave us as well-rounded individuals empowered to make positive contributions to society.

At Sleaford and Ruskington, we are fortunate to have first class educational facilities designed to help all students achieve their potential. At Sleaford, we have a mix of very modern buildings and listed buildings set in the midst of 32 acres of mature parkland. At Ruskington, we have a new state of the art building, which was extended in 2015 to provide extra capacity, complete with the latest IT facilities.

We are very proud of our Academy and believe strongly in a comprehensive ethos; promoting equal opportunities for all with a clear focus on the individual. The academy motto “Aiming High to Achieve Excellence for All” is at the centre of all we do and sets clear expectations for both students and staff.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about St George’s Academy from this website and am confident that your son or daughter will have an extremely successful time with us. I look forward to meeting you when you visit.

Kind regards

Mrs L King BSc (Hons) NPQH

About the Academy

St George’s Academy is a large 11-18, mixed, specialist Maths and Computing Academy of 2,319 students (including 386 in the sixth form), serving Sleaford, Ruskington and the surrounding rural area in Lincolnshire.

The Academy has a main campus in Sleaford with a smaller campus in the village of Ruskington.

The Academy opened in January 2010 following the successful partnership of the predecessor school, St George’s College of Technology, with two, small, rural secondary schools.

As St George’s Academy, we will continue our relentless work to improve student achievement and so give our students the life chances they deserve.
